Scope of Work

The Logistics Assistant supports the Logistics & Operations Officer in managing the kitchen supplies, maintaining inventory, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The role involves receiving, issuing, organizing, and tracking all food items and materials used in meal preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in receiving deliveries of flour, rice, oil, spices, and other edible items.
• Check quantities and packaging upon arrival; report any damage or shortage.
• Ensure proper stacking and storage of food materials in designated areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the storage and warehouse area.

• Update stock registers and bin cards daily.
• Assist in daily and weekly physical stock counts.
• Ensure FEFO/FIFO practices are followed when issuing materials.
• Track daily issuance of ingredients to kitchen staff.

• Prepare daily issue slips for ingredients requested by the kitchen team.
• Ensure materials are delivered on time for meal preparation.
• Monitor low-stock items and update the Logistics Officer immediately.

• Maintain delivery logs, consumption sheets, and stock movement records.
• File GRNs, invoices, and stock documents systematically.
• Support the preparation of weekly and monthly logistics reports.

• Assist in loading/unloading vehicles with food commodities or meal containers.
• Support general logistics tasks such as arranging packing materials, cleaning supplies, etc.
• Communicate any operational challenges to the Logistics Officer promptly.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Intermediate education required; diploma in logistics preferred.
• Basic knowledge of warehousing and stock-keeping.
• Ability to handle physical tasks (lifting, stacking the stock).
• Basic MS Excel or record-keeping skills.

• Attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
