General mission

The Teacher having minimum F.A / F.Sc qualification, with additional certification/training in education, and at least two years of teaching experience with any reputed institute or NGO in NFE set up will support HI’s Non-Formal Education program in the field. The Teacher will report to the School Leader / Education Officer.

Missions / responsibilities

Mission 1 : Education Services

The Teacher will :

  • Serve as a focal person for teaching and learning, child protection and safeguarding activities within their respective premises.
  • Engage parents & teachers’ council and youth volunteers that out of school children are enrolled and continue schooling in more protective environment as per HI safeguarding policy.
  • Manage NFEC premises effectively that every child including CWD has a fair chance to teaching and learning process and classroom are conducive, participatory and inclusive in all respect.
  • Ensure regular attendance of children and follow up on absent children to prevent risk of drop out. And organize activities that encourage & attract out of school children and build trust of parents.
  • Ensure that course contents are completed as per syllabus/ time frame and teaching methodologies and approaches/ techniques implied during classroom.
  • Conduct quarterly assessment of children and develop strategies for children with learning disabilities, and improvement in learning outcomes.
  • Engage PTC in mapping of out of school children and establish linkages with community to participate, own, and sustain educational activities within respective RV.
  • Hold regular monthly meeting of PTC and PTM to inform parents about the individual child progress and NFEC basic needs and requirement.
  •  Organized global/ National days for students and community awareness.
  • Ensure measures at NFEC level and engage local stakeholders to map child protection risks and develop a concrete plan for prevention of those risks.
  • Ensure safety and effective use of NFEC supplies and equipment. Maintain and update record of NFEC including profiling, assessment result, admission form, attendance & admission register, stock register- (in & out) and drop out record etc. 
  • Coordinate and assist HI team in delivering session with children.
  • Attend and participate in activities that are organized by HI education team.

Mission 2 : Data & Reporting

  • Compile data at the end of every month for all the NFEC activities and share with the school leader / education officer and MEAL unit.
  • Regular reporting of academic and recreational activities and share lessons learnt in the field, prepare case studies and success stories pertaining to education for every quarter and/or as required.
